World Book Week 2020

The week began with a visit to Minehead First School. A very talented and welcoming school to kick start proceedings.

On Tuesday, I spent the day working with the KS2 classes at Tidemill Academy. I loved their enthusiasm for story telling, creating their own stories about different feelings and emotions based on ‘How Rude!’

Next I made my way to Town Farm County Primary School. It was a pleasure working with Louise, Kim and all the children and staff. A fun day from start to finish!

On actual World Book Day, I was at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, where the children and staff were dressed as words! Here are the Year 4 children working on their own graphic novels.

And finally, on Friday I made my way to Plymouth School of Creative Arts. In the morning, KS1 solved a fairy tale crime scene and used it as a hook for writing their own traditional tales. In the afternoon, KS2 plotted and planned their own stories in a circuit-style idea gathering session. Lots of fun was had by all!

And to end a great week, I was sent this fabulous photo of Duck immortalised in potato form, made by super-fan, Dylan!

Hoping that your World Book Week was brilliant also. I’m looking forward to next year’s celebrations already!
