I’m so, so excited to finally be able to shout about my new picture book with the award-winning illustrator, Jenny Løvlie, and the fabulous team at Nosy Crow.
“Over the cold, mirrored waters of the Arctic, a tiny tern sets off on the world’s longest animal migration. On her way, she passes humpback whales, caribou, Canada geese, leatherback turtles and monarch butterflies, each on their own incredible journey south for winter.”

‘Time to Move South for Winter‘ is described as a beautiful, lyrical and reassuring bedtime story, perfect for young animal lovers, with a map and double-page spread of non-fiction facts at the end.
Here is a beautiful animation, used to announce the news on World Migratory Bird Day, created by the publisher:
I feel particularly lucky at having been paired with Jenny for this book, who says her favourite bird is the Arctic Tern. Jenny grew up by a large colony on Ekkerøy, Norway and described the project as a dream come true!
‘Time to Move South for Winter’ publishes 2nd September 2021 and can be pre-ordered from your local independent bookshop or all the places.
