Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival 2021

As a family we’ve been attending Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival for several years. So it was extremely exciting to be asked to perform in this year’s line up!

On 16th September, I had the pleasure of working with the Reception, Year One, Year Two and Year Three classes at St Peter’s Primary School, Budleigh. We celebrated the release of my new book with Jenny Lovlie and Nosy Crow, Time to Move South for Winter, with a migration animal game, a read of the story and by recreating one of Jenny’s scenes from the book.

Here are some of the children’s drawings of Arctic terns. I love how different they all are!

I think you’ll agree the finish piece is pretty fantastic! The southern lights sky and rocky shorelines were created by the children with coloured pastels. The collage will be displayed in the school hall.

It was wonderful to meet everyone. Thank you so much for inviting me!
