Some of you might remember that back in 2017, ‘Aerodynamics of Biscuits’ was adapted for families to enjoy on stage, with kind permission from Maverick Publishers and the illustrator, Sophia Touliatou. It premiered at Beautiful Days Festival that year. Here’s a link to my post from then: https://clarehelenwelsh.com/2017/08/21/aerodynamics-of-biscuits-premiers-at-beautiful-days/Continue reading

On Saturday, Dot and Duck had their first outing of 2019. Newton Abbot’s Passmore Edwards Centre was packed to the rafters with many polite and well-mannered families… and thank goodness it was!
Ivybridge Library do an incredible job of supporting good reading habits and reading for pleasure, so it was an honour to spend the day with their hardworking team.
We ran workshops for visiting schools, focusing on empathy and understanding other people’s feelings, all based around my newest picture book with Olivier Tallec, How Rude!
Today’s ‘really rude’ event at Totnes Library was overwhelmingly wonderful!
Friends and smiley book lovers came out in force to celebrate the forthcoming publication of How Rude! and helped to teach Duck, who had been making silly faces at members of the public and leaving books on the floor(!), some manners!
We had a lovely story session today at Brixham Library. Thank you to the little ones (and big ones) who joined us!
What an exciting day we all had celebrating the forthcoming publication of ‘Danny and the Dream Dog’ (written by Fiona Barker and illustrated by Howard Gray, published by Tiny Tree) and ‘How Rude’ (illustrated by Olivier Tallec and written by me, published by Quarto)
I am thrilled to say that I recently signed contracts for a new picture book!
