Something Very Special…

Something 26 x 26.5cm, 399 words, 32 spreads long and very, VERY special arrived in the post today…

Can you guess what it was?

YES! My author copy of Aerodynamics of Biscuits!

I sat in in bed with my family for the very first read (although they can obviously all recite it word for word!) and we reminisced over the blood, sweat and late night hours that led to its fruition.

I can’t thank *cue Opera-style speech* Steve, Kim and the Maverick Team enough for giving me this amazing opportunity, and of course, the wonderfully talented Sophia Touliatou for bringing the story to life and then some.

It also wouldn’t have been possible without the support of SCBWI, my family and friends and especially my husband, James, pictured here being dragged around the Oliver Jeffers’ exhibit in London. The rest of you will have to wait until Monday 28th September I’m afraid!

I’m feeling a little ‘fragile’ now, like the packaging the book arrived in! I hope you all like it!

Here’s a sneaky peak of my favourite page with the cover…

[Please note it was practically impossible to pick just one favourite page so I cheated and asked my daughter!]
