On Monday 12th July, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall visited Exeter Cathedral, where they met a host of countywide charities and organisations…
…including some local children’s writers!
I was lucky enough to receive an invite and spent the morning with Philip Reeve and Michael Morpurgo.
It was a dream come true to see my stories alongside those of my idols.
And as if that wasn’t wonderful enough, we had had a lovely meet with Camilla, who asked about how I became a writer, about my books and about how the pandemic had affected the writing community.
I even managed to pass her some books for the grandchildren. She later replied to my daughter saying “I loved your mother’s books!” Certainly a career highlight!
Thank you so much to Exeter UNESCO City of Literature for inviting me!
