To celebrate the launch of my new picture book ‘The Tide,‘ illustrated by Ashling Lindsey and publishing with Little Tiger Press, we timed a special blog tour to coincide with Dementia Action Week, 20th -24th May.

‘Design a Character’ Competition
Following a lovely school visit for Book Week, I was thrilled to run a ‘Design a Character’ competition for the KS2 children at Leigham Primary School, Plymouth.
But, gosh! What a challenge! There were 164 smashing entries from Year 3 up to Year 6 and it was a tough, tough job!
I was presented with original, beautifully illustrated and very well thought out ideas. In fact, it was *so* tough that I had to call on some help from some writerly, illustrator friends!
KS1 and KS2 Computing Activities for Schools
It’s always exciting to hear someone somewhere has enjoyed reading your book, and no less when it’s a teacher sharing your creation with their class.
World Book Day 2018
World Book Day was extra special this year because I was able to spend it in MY school, the school where I work, alongside it’s lovely staff and pupils.
Since the theme was ‘Share a Story,’ the staff got their heads together and arranged a rotation of activities based on one of their favourite books.
Here are a selection of photographs:
Leigham Primary School; Celebrating Books… and Biscuits!

This week Leigham Primary School celebrated Book Week and I was delighted when they asked me to join them.
Super Space Stories!

There was a real buzz at Blackpool C of E Primary School today, as the Key Stage One and Reception classes joined me for a morning of story writing and a special assembly.
The Key to Key Stage One
It’s been just over a month since Aerodynamics of Biscuits’ was published! …and with 9 school visits, 2 bookshop events and 2 book launches under my belt I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
I have recently made two more successful author visits, one at Newton Ferrers C of E Primary School and one at Marldon C of E Primary School, both in Key Stage One, so I thought I would share ‘MY FOUR P’s’! My top tips for working with children aged 5-7yrs.
